Minister Stresses Timely Completion of T2 for ‘New Kuwait 2035’

Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, chaired a meeting to review the progress of Kuwait’s new airport project (T2). The meeting, attended by Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and representatives from the Ministry of Interior, aimed to ensure the project stays on track and addresses any challenges.

Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized the importance of completing the project with the highest quality and efficiency, adhering to strict timelines and technical specifications. She highlighted that the new airport is crucial to Kuwait’s vision for the future, aligning with the “New Kuwait 2035” initiative. This modern airport will play a vital role in boosting Kuwait’s economy by attracting investment and solidifying its position as a regional and global hub for finance and commerce.

“We are committed to advancing the aviation sector in Kuwait by adopting the best international standards,” stated Dr. Al-Mashaan.

The Ministry of Public Works reported that the project is moving forward, with initial work underway. Earthworks and excavation have been completed for the food equipment building and tunnels. The contractor has successfully addressed any obstacles encountered through close collaboration with other government agencies, including the Ministries of Interior and Electricity and Water.

A key component of Package 3, which complements the previously awarded Packages 1 and 2, includes a dedicated food equipment building, a comprehensive technical support and service center with enhanced security measures, a waste disposal area, essential service tunnels within the airport’s airfield, and designated aircraft corridors and parking areas
