We are looking for an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The technician will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests to support physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and supervise a variety of medical lab tests in areas such as biochemistry, microbiology, hematology, histopathology, cytology, blood bank, and serology to provide critical data for diagnosing and treating diseases.
- Conduct research by performing quantitative and qualitative analysis on biological samples (e.g., blood, tissue, body fluids) to ensure accurate results.
- Perform blood typing, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and antibody identification to ensure patients receive compatible blood. Assist in blood donation and blood transfusion services as required.
- Test drug levels in patient blood to assess how the body responds to medical treatments.
- Prepare culture media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions for bacterial identification.
- Test samples from external bodies to maintain laboratory accreditation.
- Conduct minor maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Report any issues to the supervisor.
- Apply risk management principles in all tasks and seek continuous improvement through professional development.
- Assist with training and developing laboratory technicians, follow all health and safety regulations, and be available on call outside normal working hours.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a relevant medical laboratory discipline.
- Visa: Local candidates with Article 18 (transferable visa) are preferred.
